GoTshwane is an independent commuter app designed by Pushafy. It is not a municipal or operator app. This notice describes the current release and is not a substitute for legal advice.
Information and storage
Route, stop, schedule and alert data is requested from Pushafy’s Supabase project. Saved route and stop identifiers and display/accessibility settings are kept in local app/browser storage. This release does not offer registration or create user accounts.
Location sharing
Nearby, one-time location sharing, and live sharing use device location only after your action and permission. Live sharing sends periodic coordinates to Supabase while active. The server stores the latest position, hashed access tokens, and expiry for the temporary share. The private link can be viewed by anyone who receives it until it expires or you stop sharing. Location updates may pause if the app is suspended. A one-time Google Maps link shares location with the target you choose; Google’s policies apply.
Community reports and notices
Community reports are sent to Supabase, marked unverified and may be visible in the public alert feed. Do not include names, contact information, or sensitive personal details. Public route and notice data can be read without signing in.
Retention and third parties
Live shares expire and an automated cleanup removes expired records. Community submissions may remain until resolved or removed by an authorized administrator; a fixed retention period has not been set. Google Maps and your chosen share target are independent third parties with their own privacy practices.
Your choices and requests
Revoke location permission in device settings, stop live sharing in the app, or clear device preferences. To request access, correction, objection, or removal of a server-side report, contact support@gotshwane.app. Pushafy may need to verify the request and apply lawful retention exceptions. Do not email passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
